The Coalition of North Central Group (CNCG) has urged the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to consider North Central geo- political zone for Presidency in 2023.
The group in a statement released on Friday in Abuja said that the only zone that has not produced President and Vice-President is the North Central.
The group stressed the need to consider the request as it will promote unity, fairness and justice to the region and the nation at large.
Chairman of the group, Comrade Salahudeen Lukman, while commending PDP for its recent convention that produced a very young youth leader, said it is a sign of readiness of the party to rescue the country from APC misrule.

The group added “We have decided to make this call on the major opposition party leaders and stakeholders being the largest political Party in Africa and the major opposition Party in Nigeria, with proven record of pro-people policy orientation, that the 2023 Presidency should be conceded to the North Central geopolitical zone.”
The stated that, “the reasons for this suggestion are very obvious. The North Central geo-political zone is the only zone that has not been privileged to produce a democratically elected President or Vice President in the political history of Nigeria. Therefore, for equity and justice, the North Central Zone should be considered this time around to fly PDP ticket come 2023 general election.
“Nigerians as at today , are convinced of the readiness of PDP to rescue the country from the ineptitude and misrule of the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration. PDP remains the last hope of the common masses to move them out of the POVERTY, HUNGER and INSECURITY bedevilling our dear Nation.”
