Passengers at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, formerly known as the Maiduguri International Airport, have lamented the ‘excruciating heat’ at the Airport.
A Facebook post by one Professor Abubakar Mua’zu of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Maiduguri, on Monday, painted the inconvenience of air travellers at the airport, occasioned by the inclement weather condition.
“Passengers at the newly renamed Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, formerly Maiduguri International Airport, are roasting in the Maiduguri heat because the air conditioners are all shut down.

“Passengers are having to manage with three fans in the ordinary passengers’ departure hall and two for the VIPs. No air conditioner is on at the VIP Hall. Ordinary and VIP passengers have become equal in this regard.
“Humidity is high and the heat is as usual in Maiduguri. One wonders with all the charges at the airport it is surprising that the management cannot put on a bigger generator to serve their customers for the limited time that passengers will be waiting for their flight.
“Well. This is Nigeria. I believe that Abuja does not have to issue directives for anything good to happen at this end. But what do I know about airport management and serving passengers!”
Politics Digest made efforts to contact Prof. Mua’zu at the time of filing this report, but his mobile line could not be reached, even as he was also offline on Facebook.
