The Illusion of Infinite Time
By Saleh Shehu Ashaka
In the grand tapestry of life, we often find ourselves entangled in the illusion of infinite time. We push our dreams to tomorrow, delay important conversations, and postpone acts of kindness, all under the assumption that there will always be time However, the truth is far more sobering – time, that elusive and precious commodity, is finite.
The biggest mistake many humans make in life is believing that they have an endless reservoir of time at their disposal. This mistaken belief leads to a dangerous complacency, a procrastination of living fully in the present moment. We convince ourselves that we can wait – wait to pursue our passions, wait to express our love, wait to mend broken relationships. But as the clock ticks on, we fail to recognize that each passing moment brings us closer to the inevitable end.
Imagine a world where we embrace the urgency of the present moment, where we seize each day as an opportunity to create, connect, and grow. By recognizing the fleeting nature of time, we are compelled to live with greater intentionality and purpose. We no longer take for granted the simple joys of life – a sunrise, a shared laugh, a warm embrace.

In this fast-paced world filled with distractions and obligations, it is easy to lose sight of what truly matters. We become consumed by busyness, chasing after elusive goals and external validation. But amidst the chaos, there lies a profound truth: the only moment we are guaranteed is the one we are living right now.
Let us not squander this precious gift of the present moment. Let us cultivate gratitude for the here and now, acknowledging the impermanence of all things. It is in this awareness that we find the courage to live authentically, to speak our truths, and to show up fully in our interactions with others.
As we navigate the complexities of life, let us remember that time is a nonrenewable resource. Once it is gone, it can never be reclaimed. So let us choose wisely how we spend our days, investing in experiences that bring us joy and fulfillment. Let us choose love over fear, connection over isolation, and presence over distraction.
The biggest mistake many humans make in life is thinking they still have time. But the truth is, time waits for no one. So let us embrace the fleeting nature of our existence, leaning into the uncertainty and embracing the beauty of the present moment. For it is here, in the now, that we truly come alive.
