IPOB Accuses Buhari Of Using ‘Fulani’ To Controls Military
POLITICS DIGEST – Separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari of using security agencies, which it said, are controlled by people of his Fulani ethnic group, to commit genocide in Igbo land, precisely in Nigeria’s Southeast region.
The group which stated this in a suit it filled at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, through its council, Bruce Fein on July 31, asked the United States government to block supply of additional Super Tucano fighter jets to Nigeria under Buhari, as according to it, the aircraft will be deployed to kill innocent Biafrans.
The group in the court filings, accused the Buhari government of gruesome human rights violations in the country’s Southeast, noting that there is an ongoing genocide being carried out by security forces in the region.
The group lamented that 70 million Igbo Christians of Nigeria’s South-East are at risk of being massacred and subjugated by Messrs Buhari and their genocidal Muslim Fulani collaborators.
“President Buhari intends to use the Super Tucano advanced weapons to kill and maim Biafrans and destroy their property in his ongoing genocide conducted by Fulani controlled security forces guilty of atrocious human rights violations,” the group said.
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin were listed as defendants in the suit.
