Jaafar Jaafar: A Force to Reckon With, By Adnan Mukhtar Tudunwada
POLITICS DIGEST – One interesting thing with Facebook is the intellectual mutual respect and cooperation its users are enjoying, you can realized that during the course of every debate either on politics, religion and philosophy e.t.c.
What motivated me to write this is on the ongoing discourse about Emir Sanusi, the intellectuals are divided over the controversial stance of the Emir on many issues that deals with ‘religion’, ‘culture’ and the north as a whole. some are supporting his views while some are not.
Some intellectuals are force to reckon with, I once used such phrase on my article titled; Ganduje: A force to reckon with, it was in 2014; this was when we were busy pressurising Senator Kwankwaso to anoint Ganduje as his successor.
On many issues, I have seen many places where the intellectuals differ and are strongly opposed to each others opinion and views, they argue and criticize constructively without calling themselves names; when an ordinary facebooker like me makes a stand on a serious issue like that of the Emir, they don’t hesitate to criticize you in anyway, calling you names, making threats of ‘unfriending’ and ‘blocking’, denying you your own thought, view and conscience.

When the likes of My boss are busy countering the Emir objectively, they ended of pleading with him, afraid of engaging him in satires, when he recently exposed the misappropriation of 1 billion in the Emirate, they kept mute saying the Emir would never do that looking at how rich he is.
Do you know why they are afraid to engage him?
He can write English better than them.
He is more influential than them on the media.
He can write satires that would give them a sleepless night.
He has larger followers than them.
He is a graduate like them.
An investigative journalist of high repute.
He is a publisher e.t.c
If they would engage him in a deconstructive manner, he would do them more harm than he is doing, my boss is a quintessential journalist that verify and analyse facts before he write on issues.
Some intellectuals are force to reckon with, they are beneficial to you in one way or the other, you will learn from them and them to you. This is what accord you the respect and cooperation.
With due respect Jaafar Jaafar, many are happy with your stands on issues, you earn a lot of respect from them, continue with the good work while our likes are learning from it. You are a force to reckon with whether they like it or not.
