JUST IN: Hours after Ganduje’s Ultimatum, Kwankwaso Resigns as Commissioner
Kano State Commissioner for Rural Development, Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso, has resigned from office.
His resignation comes hours after Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje gave political appointees who wish to run for elective offices in 2023 24 hours to resign.

Kwankwaso is set to contest for membership of the House of Representatives to represent Kura, Madobi and Garun Malam Constituency.
In an audio clip made public on Sunday, the former commissioner thanked Governor Ganduje for the opportunity to serve.
Ganduje’s directive was to comply with the provision of section 84(12) of the newly amended Electoral Act.
The Commissioner for Water Resources, Sadiq Wali, had also earlier tendered his resignation letter and obtained the governorship nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
