JUST IN: Court Disqualifies Delta PDP Governorship Candidate
The Peoples Democratic Party, Delta State chapter has been thrown into confusion following the court judgment that declared its governorship candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori, unqualified to run for office come 2023.
The Federal High Court in Abuja had on Thursday sacked Oborevwori as the governorship candidate of the PDP in Delta over discrepancies in his certificates.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, had ruled that the plaintiff, David Edevbie, proved beyond reasonable doubt that Oborevwori was unqualified by the discrepancies in his documents.

Reacting to the judgment, the state chairman of the party, Mr. Kingsley Esiso, said he had not read the judgment to know the next line of action to take.
He said, “I have not read the judgment; you know I’m a lawyer and I need to study it before I can speak on it.
On his part, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Delta State chapter, Mr Omene Sobotie, said the judgment was an indication that the APC would certainly win the election.
“My brother, I have not read the True Certified Copy of the judgment, so I cannot speak now but I know that it portrayed winning for the APC,” he said.
