JUST IN: House of Reps to Serve Buhari Impeachment Notice
POLITICS DIGEST – The House of Representatives is considering commencing impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari over the rising insecurity and the President’s seeming inability to halt it.
Minority Leader of the House, Hon. Ndidi Elumelu, said on Wednesday that the Lower House will serve the President an impeachment notice soon.
Opposition senators on Wednesday angrily stormed out of plenary, chanting ‘Buhari must go’ adding that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, should also go.
Speaking at a forum in Abuja, Elumelu said: “I was just briefed that Senators have served President Muhammadu Buhari impeachment notice. Very soon House of Representatives will serve him a similar impeachment notice”.
He lamented that things have gone too bad, assuring that the National Assembly will do everything possible to rescue Nigeria from the failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
