JUST IN: Kano Assembly May Cede Some Local Governments From New Emirates To Kano
POLITICS DIGEST– Kano State House of Assembly says whenever the need arises it may cede some local governments from other Emirates back to Kano Emirate.
The speaker Kano State House of Assembly Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari made the statement while addressing Kano Palace correspondents immediately after meeting Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.
The speaker said as at now there is no anything like that but if the need arises of adding some local government to Kano Emirate people will know about it.

Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari dropped the hint when a palace correspondent asked him that there is news making the round that some local government councils in other Emirates may be returned back to their former enclave,the speaker replied when the issue came in anytime people will have the knowledge.
On May 8 2019 Kano State House of Assembly Balkanised Kano Emirate into four by an act of the state assembly.
Initially the chairmanship of the states council of chiefs was to rotate after every 2 years between the Emir’s of Kano,Gaya,Rano,Karaye.
But when 14th Emir of Kano Muhammad Sunusi II was removed on March 9 and his brother Emir Aminu Ado Bayero was installed ,the state assembly amended the law and made Emir of Kano permanent chairman of the Council.
