JUST IN: INEC May Postpone Governorship, State Assembly Elections to March 18
There are strong indications that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will shift the gubernatorial and State Assembly elections scheduled for this Saturday to March 18.
Sources in INEC have confirmed this development to POLITICS DIGEST, citing a logistics crisis stemming from the need to reconfigure BVAS for the elections.
Our source who craved anonymity said the decision to postpone the polls is following a meeting of INEC’S executives on Wednesday evening.

“The elections were postponed to allow one more week for preparations,” the source said.
Another source who is familiar with the development said the election may as well be postponed to March 25 depending on the outcome of the INEC top executives’ meeting.
The meeting was still underway at INEC headquarters in Abuja as of the time of filing this report.
The commission had convinced the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal to vary its order granting Peter Obi of the Labour Party and PDP’s Atiku Abubakar permission to inspect the election materials on the premise that it had to reconfigure the BVAS for the conduction of the polls this Saturday.
