JUST IN: Liz Truss Becomes UK’s Third Female Prime Minister

A veteran right wing politician, Liz Truss, has emerged new leader of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom.
She is therefore set to assume office as the new Prime Minister of the UK, replacing Boris Johnson who was forced to resign weeks ago.

Truss, 47, defeated Rishi Sunak, a 42 year old in the final Conservative Party poll conducted on Monday.
Truss polled 81,326 votes to Sunak’s 60,399.
The new Prime Minister has come a long way in politics.
During her school days, she was President of Oxford University Liberal Democrats. At graduation in 1996, she joined the Conservative Party.
She has held a number of offices beginning with winning election in 2010 as MP for South West Norfolk.
