JUST IN: Mai Gari of Lokoja is Dead
POLITICS DIGEST – The traditional ruler of Lokoja, popularly called the Mai Gari of Lokoja, Alhaji Muhammadu Kabiru Makarfi III, has been reported dead.
Multiple palace sources told POLITICS DIGEST on Wednesday night that the reverred monarch died earlier around 4pm.

Our correspondent also gathered that the 80-year-old traditional ruler died in an undisclosed Abuja hospital.
The Mai Gari has been ill for months having been taken to different hospitals in Saudi Arabia and Egypt before finally ending up in Abuja.
Competent sources in the palace added that he will be buried according to Islamic injunctions on Thursday.
The Mai Gari has been on the throne since 1991. He is survived by wives, children and grandchildren.
