JUST IN: Peter Obi Withdraws from Presidential Race, Dumps PDP

A leading presidential aspirant in the 2023 presidency race, Mr. Peter Obi, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Obi’s decision to quit the PDP was first conveyed to the Chairman of Aguta Ward 2, Anambra LGA, in Anambra State, last Friday, May 20, 2022.

His official resignation from the main opposition was however contained in a letter addressed to the Party’s National Chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, which Politics Digest obtained.
Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, also withdrew from the 2023 presidential contest.
In the letter dated 24 May 2022, the frontline Southeast politician, noted that it was a great honour for him to have contributed to nation-building efforts, through the window the main opposition offered him.
He however, said that recent developments within the party have made it practically impossible for him to continue participating and making such constructive contributions, any longer.
