JUST IN: Women Seeking Elective Offices will Henceforth Pay Nothing – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a decision to stop collecting money for nomination and expression of interest forms from women who are seeking elective offices within the party and who also wish to serve the public at national and state levels.
The National Women Leader of the party, Hon. Betta Edu, in a press briefing at the headquarters on Thursday, said the party is making the forms free for women as part of the promise made by the Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee (NWC).

She commended President Muhammadu Buhari and First Lady, Aisha Buhari, for their efforts in giving women a voice in party and national affairs.
“They have thrown the ball into our court. Before now we have women saying we cannot afford nomination forms, we have been given the greatest chance to emerge the winner of an election because we will be running on a ticket of the ruling party, a party that has performed, a party that has provided welfare for Nigerians, a party that is ready to mainstream women.
“Women should stand up and contest. We are going into a series of processes that will lead up to the 2023 elections. We must be actively involved , we must come all out, go from door to door and sensitize women,” she said.
