Kano Agency Detains Kwankwaso’s Nephew Over Drug Purchase Scam
Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission on Thursday detained Musa Garba, the owner of Novomed Pharmaceuticals, over an ongoing investigation into alleged drug contract scam at the 44 LGAs of the state valued at N440m.
Musa Garba, a nephew of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was invited for interrogation by the anti-graft agency on Wednesday over the drug contract scam allegedly awarded his company without due process.
On Thursday, the managing director of Novomed Pharmaceuticals honoured the invitation with his Lawyer.
A credible at the commission told this paper that Musa Garba who arrived the commission at 12.00 noon on Thursday is still undergoing interrogation as at the time of filing this report, 8.00 pm.
‘’Musa Garba is still been interrogated and may be here till tomorrow if we are not satisfied with his response to our interrogation,’’ the source said.

Recalls that the investigation led to the interrogation of several officials, including Mohammed Kabara, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Abdullahi Bashir, chairman of the state branch of the Association for Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON); and other officials of the Ministry of Local Government who were initially detained and subsequent invitation of Musa Garba, owner of Novomed Pharmaceuticals to appear at the commission on Thursday.
Musa Garba, Novomed Pharmaceuticals Managing Director’s Lawyer, Barr. Okechukwu Nweze had told journalists on Thursday at the commission that his client may consider going to court with numerous invitation by antigraft agencies that include Kano Antigraft Commission, ICPC and EFCC on the same matter.
According to him, it is a double jeopardy for three antigraft agencies to invite his client for interrogation on a single matter.
”We need the court to clarify this situation for us, Nweze said.
