Kano Based AI Expert Makes World Top 2% Scientist on Research
POLITICS DIGEST- Sani Isah Abba, a Kano-based artificial intelligence and optimization algorithms expert, has been listed on the list of the world’s top 2% scientists in their research area in a global list issued by a joint research evaluation metric created by Elsevier and the Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford University.

S. I. Abba is a lecturer and researcher in Civil Engineering specializing in artificial intelligence, optimization algorithms, water resource and environmental engineering. He received a B.Sc. degree from Bayero University Kano (BUK), an M. Tech degree from Sharda University, India, and PhD from Near East University (NEU) Cyprus, Cyprus. He worked with Yusuf Maitama Sule University from 2013 to 2020. Abba is a lecturer at the department of civil engineering, Baze University, Nigeria and a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Membrane and Water Security, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran 31261, Saudi Arabia.
Abba published more than 100 research articles and book chapters. He also attended and presented at several national and international conferences. Dr Abba and his team developed more than 100 algorithms to solve complex problems across science, engineering, health, and social science disciplines. In addition, he has excellent expertise in software, coding, remote sensing, and GIS. He is currently a reviewer in more than 30 ISI/SCI journals in different publishers, including Springer, Elsevier, IEEE, MDPI, Taylor, Hindawi etc.
Abba is a certified registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and other international bodies. He also engaged in several community volunteer associations and programs.
