Kano DisCo Presents Food Items, Cash to Jigawa as COVID-19 Palliative
POLITICS DIGEST – In its effort to ease the suffering of people in its franchise areas, the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has presented food items and N2million bank cheque to the Jigawa State Government for onward distribution to people of the State.
“The effort is part of the company’s initiative to assist Nigerians cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic”, the spokesperson of the company, Ibrahim Sani Shawai said in a statement on Saturday.
He said the project is coming after similar intervention of the palliatives was given to the governments of Kano and Katsina on Thursday and Friday respectively.

In his message, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna said the occasion was an opportunity for the company to give back to the people of the state and to show how much the company values them as its major partners.
Represented by his Chief Operating Officer, Mr Vijaykumar Sonawane, Dr Gwamna said the pandemic had shown to the world that we all need one another to survive, adding “this is our moment to show that we care not just in words but in deeds.’’
“This is our own way of assisting both the people and the government as a responsible company that prioritises the satisfaction of customers and residents of states in our franchise area.
In his remarks, the Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar appreciated KEDCO for the gesture, stressing that the donation was not about the quantity of the items but the concern shown by the company at a time like this.
Items given include 1,000 bags of 10kg Rice, 1,000 gallons of 4litre cooking oil and a bank cheque of N2million.
