I Nazifi Dawud, the Publisher and CEO of DAILY FOCUS ONLINE NEWSPAPER, one of the pioneer online platforms in Kano State, hereby announce our withdrawal from the merger/partnership entered with KANO TODAY that gave rise to “KANO FOCUS”. Consequent upon the withdrawal of Daily Focus from the said merger/partnership, effective from June 3, 2020 the name “KANO FOCUS” ceases to exist.
It may be recalled that on Wednesday, September 12, 2019, I as the Publisher and CEO of Daily Focus Online Newspaper, representing my company and Maude Rabiu Gwadabe, representing KANO TODAY, issued a joint statement announcing the merger/partnership of the two online news platforms to be known as “KANO FOCUS”.
We entered the merger with a conviction that it would “provide a credible and viable medium for investigative journalism on issues and events on Kano State.”
However, less than three months into the 8-month partnership, problems started to creep in primarily due to wide and irreconcilable differences in personal and management principles.
I was already exasperated with the whole union by May 2020, when suddenly, the main co-partner demanded the dissolution of the merger, a request I readily obliged. This was followed by an agreement we all signed, effectively ending the partnership.
Even though there are issues with regards to certain aspects of the collapsed partnership that are still being considered behind the scene, I am pleased to announce that DAILY FOCUS have WITHDRAWN from the merger/partnership with KANO TODAY.
In view of this, I have fully reverted to my original platform DAILY FOCUS (www.dailyfocus.ng) and urge all our followers , customers and the general public to take note.
I wish to also use this medium to declare that DAILY FOCUS along with its trademark, logo, slogan and mission statement, has fully resumed operations.
Thank you.
Signed
Nazifi Dawud
Publisher, Daily Focus
