Kano Assembly Majority Leader Impeached
POLITICS DIGEST – The Majority Leader of Kano state House of Assembly, Honourable Labaran Abdul Madari, has been impeached.
Madari, who also represents Warawa constituency was unanimously impeached by the House, following a motion moved by the member, Muhammed Uba Gurjiya representing Bunkure local government.

In the motion raised at the floor of the assembly, Gurjiya stated that the impeachment was a matter of urgent public importance and that all house members of the leading All Progressive Congress (APC) have agreed on the matter.
Supporting the motion on behalf of the APC members, member representing Sumaila Zubairu Hamza Massu stated that the APC members in the house have agreed to the impeachment motion of the majority leader and have already elected the deputy majority leader, Alhaji Kabiru Hassan Dashi to replace him.
He added that, honourable Tasi’u Ibrahim Zabainawa has been elected to be the new deputy majority leader of the house.
Reasons behind the impeachment have not yet been made public.
