2023: Kano NNPP Inaugurates Fundraising Committee

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the leading opposition party in Kano state, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has announced its Fundraising Committee.
The party also fixed February 4 for fundraising dinner and launch of crowd funding activities.
This was contained in a statement signed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the spokesperson of the Presidential/Gubernatorial Campaign Council in Kano.
According to Sanusi, the committee will be headed by former deputy minority leader of the House of Representatives, Dr. Sulaiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila.

While unveiling the fundraising Committee members and leadership in a ceremony at the state campaign secretariat in Sharada, Kano state, the Director General of NNPP Kano State Campaign Management Team, Dr Gwani Ali Abubakar, also announced the former Executive Secretary of the TETFund Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, as the deputy chairman, with Engr. Nura Hussain Na’abba and Sanusi Bature as secretary and deputy secretary respectively.
Other eminent personalities appointed to serve in the committee include Alh. Adamu A. Y. Maikifi, Dr. Kassim Batayya, Alh. Dayyabu Ahmad Maiturare, Alh. Gambo Danpass, Sen. Rufa’i Hanga, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, Alh. Garba Hungu, Nasir Danfaranshi and Wali Danchana.
The NNPP fundraising committee also has Hon. Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, Hon. Badamasi Ayuba, Dr. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, Rt. Hon. Isyaku Ali Danja, Hon. Lawan Hussain and Rt. Hon. Zubairu Hamza Massu as members.
In his speech, the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in the state, Yusuf Abba, popularly known as Abba Gida Gida, described the choice of Hon. Kawu as meritorious, considering his vast experience in the national politics and as an erudite political scientist.
“We are in safe hands with Hon. Kawu as chairman of this committee, I want to urge all and sundry to cooperate with him to effectively discharge this huge responsibility,” he said.
