POLITICS DIGEST – A source in the Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed to POLITICS DIGEST that the plot to remove the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly has failed following the failure of the orchestrators to mobilise the lawmakers.
Out of 40 members of the state assembly, they were able to mobilise 12 and for the speaker to be impeached, they needed 27 members of the House.

This paper had exclusively gathered that the removal plot was connected to their support to former Speaker of the State Assembly Kabiru Alhassan Rurum’s gubernatorial ambition.
In an interview with Freedom Radio on Monday, the Majority Leader of the House, Labaran Madari, denied the plot saying he’s not aware of anything like that.
A member of the State Assembly who pleaded anonymity however told POLITICS DIGEST that the plot failed because of their failure to get the support of at least 27 lawmakers to actualise the plot.
“They got 12 members and that’s not the minimum number to remove a principal officer in the Assembly, you need 27. They realised that they cannot get the numbers, that’s why they are denying the story,” he said.
