Kanwan Katsina, Others Commemorate Ahmadu Bello
POLITICS DIGEST – The Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has extolled the virtues of late Sir Ajmadu Bello Sardauna of Sokoto and former Premier of the defunct Northern Nigeria.
Alhaji Usman Bello was speaking at sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture organized by a civil society organization, Voice of the People in collaboration with save Katsina Group and the Northwest Youths Support for good governance in Katsina.
The former Customs Controller urged leaders at all levels to build upon his legacy for overall development of the Nation.
He said the life of Ahmadu Bello continued to dominate both historical and contemporary discourses in democratic leadership, governance and public service fifty six years after his assassination.

The Kanwa observed that the visionary leadership and foresight of the late premier laid a foundation for the socio-economic development in northern Nigeria particularly through the establishment of institutions of learning and other infrastructure that are still in use to this day.
The guest speaker who is a lecturer at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Katsina, Dr Kabir Umar recalled that Sir Ahmadu Bello succeeded in forging unity among the over two hundred ethnic groups in the defunct Northern region and executed various projects and programs that brought about development in the region.
The convener of the lecture comrade Bishir Dauda advised political leaders to implement policies and programs that would improve the lives of the people.
The was organised to commemorate the life and death of the former premier of the northern region sir Amadu Bello Sardauna of Sokoto who was killed during a coup of nineteen sixty six in his residence in Kaduna.
