KAROTA Arrests Man With Bag Containing Alcohol
POLITICS DIGEST – Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) has arrested one Chief Innocent Akem, a 73 year old man with alcoholic drinks while transporting them from the Sabon Gari Area of the State.
Kano state prohibits the importation, sale and consumption of alcohol.
The 73 year old, was arrested on Zungero road, Noman’s Land leaving Sabon Gari Area for Janguza his residence.
According to him, the alcoholic drinks were meant for a naming ceremony coming up at his place hence, the need to get the drinks for entertainment.

The KAROTA personnel on duty succeeded in arresting also the tricyclist conveying the alcoholic drinks, one Ali Abdullahi.
In the same vein, another tricycle conveying same products was impounded on Kano Club Road with the said alcohol conceived under his seats and his back seat.
The arrested persons have been transferred to the Kano state Hisbah Board for further action necessary.
The Managing Director, Hon. (Dr) Baffa Dan’agundi has reiterated that the agency will continue to work with other sister agencies in the state in ensuring that travellers abide by the rules and regulations of the state.
