KEDCO Distributes COVID-19 Palliatives to Staff, Targets Residents in Franchise Areas
POLITICS DIGEST – The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) said it has distributed food items to about 3, 000 of its staff to help cushion the effects of the COVID-19 lockdown especially in the monthbof Ramadan.
The company made this known in a statement made available to newsmen o Friday by its head of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Sani Shawai.
KEDCO said the gesture was taken to ensure that its staff enjoy the privilege they deserved in line with its staff-welfare priority policy.

“This gesture is a testament of our utmost regard and respect for all our staff and that’s why we made sure the food items went round from top to bottom because everyone’s role in KEDCO is quite crucial”, the statement said.
The Kano DisCo similarly said it has concluded arrangements to extend the same gesture to residents its franchise areas of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States, noting that it would go a long way in ameliorating their sufferings.
Also, the MD/CEO Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna said the planned gesture is to support the fight against COVID-19 as government alone cannot meet all these demands thrown to it by citizens because of the pandemic.
Dr. Gwamna therefore used the opportunity to call on wealthy Nigerians to support the poor by donating whatever can to help them cushion the effect of the pandemic, while securing a better future for our society.
“Nothing moves the world like love and cares especially in difficult times as we now have on our hands”, said Gwamna.
