KEDCO Mourns Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari
POLITICS DIGEST – The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has condoled with President Muhammadu Buhari over the death of his Chief of Staff, late Abba Kyari.
KEDCO in a statement on Saturday by its head of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, described him as a true patriot who paid the ultimate prize in the service of his fatherland and would forever be remembered for his contributions to the development of the country.
Kyari died after suffering from the novel Coronavirus disease and has since been buried in Abuja according to Islamic rites.
KEDCO said: “Mallam Kyari was a man who despite the challenges was able to rise to become an important figure, especially in driving the change agenda of Mr. President in the interest of Nigerians.

“His wish and will always are for the wellbeing of Nigeria and Nigerians and it was upon this that he sojourned to Germany to help seal and concretize the power sector deal with Siemens so that the country could experience better reformation of the power sector where he contracted the virus.
“It is sad, he has paid with his life but the sacrifice he made will forever be a reference point within any discourse that relates to the improvement of not only power sector but infrastructure generally’, the statement added.
Similarly, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of KEDCO, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, described the late Chief of Staff’s death as a “monumental loss at a time Nigerians needed all the wisdom for coordianted solutions to exit this pandemic that has befallen us.’’
“He is one gentle man whose wealth of intelligence is unrivalled. A man versatile enough and had leveraged that to secure a future for Nigerians that only time and posterity would reveal.
“His death is not just a loss to Mr. President and the Kyaris but the entire country and Africa as a whole.’’
Gwamna finally prayed for God to grant the President, the deceased’s family and the entire Nigerians the fortitude to bear the loss.
