COVID-19 Lockdown: KEDCO Reassures Customers of Sustained Power Supply
POLITICS DIGEST – The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has said that it has concluded plans to ensure sustained power supply to all customers in Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states during the lockdown period.
The company in a statement on Friday by its head of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Sani Shawai said it had begun series of technical and operational realignments to ensure improvement in power supply to all its numerous customers.
KEDCO said: “It is our job to give satisfaction to our customers. We have been doing it but in view of the lockdown order, we have done some critical adjustments in our mode of operation to ensure the sustenance of the improvement in power supply that our customers are now witnessing.

“We have also made arrangements with regard to payment as our cash offices are open in case there is need to buy token or even reporting issues or technical faults noticed. So our online platforms are very much available to make payment for electricity bills.
“We also have our customer care vehicles that will be strategically located in different locations where they could be of urgent help to any of our customers under strict adherence to the social distancing directives.
“This can also to leveraged to buy token or report issues as the members of this unit are connected to our situation room who are stationed for any emergency whatsoever.
“We are also urging customers to continue to pay their bills and not buy in on the rumour of free electricity supply”, the company added.
On the issue of proposed two-month free arrangement by government KEDCO said the plan has not been activated, hence every customer must continue to pay their bills and jettison the rumour.
The Kano DisCo stressed when the proposal materializes, “we will let you know, but for now, continue to pay so we can pay our essential service staff as well as motivate them to continue the good work.’’
