KEDCO’s Head of Communication Bags Award For Laundering Company’s Good Image
POLITICS DIGEST – In recognition of his outstanding efforts in laundering its corporate image, the management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has honoured Ibrahim Sani Shawai, its head of Corporate Communication.
The award was given to him as a special recognition for revolutionizing the company’s public image was presented during the just concluded Managing Director’s (MD) Award night held in Kano recently amidst fanfare.
KEDCO said the award was for Shawai’s unrelenting and innovative corporate communication approach which according to them has earned the company a lot of good reputation and recognition nationwide.
KEDCO added that, “Shawai has within 5 months of heading the unit been able to revolutionise issues of communications amongst all KEDCO’s stakeholders which have had serious positive impact in terms of changing some of the negative perceptions of several customers about KEDCO.

“The management was also impressed with the manner in which Mr. Shawai has been able to bridge the communicative gaps between the management and all staff as well as his quick responses to public issues that require clarification from KEDCO.
The company also honoured 68 others from top to the lowest echelon of their staff for various performances, while restating its commitment to further strengthen the award system subsequently. This, according to them will help ensure that employees’ get more encouragement for their efforts to make KEDCVO the best DisCo in terms of service delivery nationwide in the 2020 and even beyond.
Earlier in his message during the award presentation, the KEDCO Managing Director, Dr.Jamil Isyaku Gwamna said “this award goes to Shawai for improving KEDCO’s brand visibility in a positive manner.
“He has strategically and professionally managed internal and external stakeholders thereby saving the face and uplifting the image of the company in several challenging situations,” Gwamna added
While congratulating the awardees, the Managing Director reiterated the company’s commitment to continue recognising staff who excelled in putting smiles on their faces of customers in the company’s franchise states of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states.
