Ketare District Head Wants Katsina Journalists to Embrace Sports for Physical Fitness
The Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare in Kankara Local Government Area, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, has called on working journalists in Katsina to engage in sporting activities.
This is necessary for them to keep fit and stay healthy, says Alh. Bello Kankara.
The District Head gave the advice when the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Katsina State Television KTTV Chapel, presented him a trophy won by one of their own at the recently-concluded Kanwa Katsina Table Tennis Competition.
Urging journalists in the State to utilize the sporting arena at the NUJ Secretariat for their development and leisure, Alh. Bello Kankara, who is the Grand Patron of the NUJ KTTV Chapel, expressed happiness that the Table Tennis team of his guests came second at the competition he sponsored.
He urged them to redouble their efforts, so that they will emerge victorious next time.

The Katsina traditional ruler also used the occasion to call on media outfits in the State to collaborate with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to sensitize voters ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Earlier, Chairman of the NUJ KTTV chapel, Comrade Aminu Dandagoro, while presenting their team’s trophy to their host, thanked Alh. Bello Kankara for his support and contribution to their chapel, Ketare community, Katsina State and the country, at large.
It could be recalled that the Sports Writer Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Katsina State Council, in collaboration with the Kanwan Katsina, had organized a Table Tennis Competition among media organizations in the State, as part of activities to mark the ‘2022 Press Week’ and also celebrate Katsina State at 35.
Politics Digest reports that Alh. Bello Kankara donated the trophy to the Katsina NUJ Council for the Table Tennis competition, due to his love for the game which he played during his secondary days in the 70s, at Government Secondary School Malumfashi.
