Ketare District Head Felicitates Re-Elected Katsina NUJ, NAWOJ Excos
The Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare town, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, has congratulated the newly-inaugurated executives of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Katsina State Council and the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Katsina State Chapter.
The congratulatory message was contained in separate letters addressed to the Chairman of the Katsina NUJ Council, Hassan Tukur Dan-Ali, and the Chairperson of NAWOJ, Hajia Hannatu Mohammed, which were released to newsmen.
In the letter, the Kanwan Katsina, who is also the grand patron of the NUJ KTTV Chapel, noted that the re-inauguration of the NUJ excos to serve for another tenure of three years is a clear testimony of achievement, dedication, selfless service and the confidence journalists in the State have on them.
Alh. Bello Kankara, commended the NUJ for sponsoring the construction of a sporting complex for journalists, and renovating the NUJ Secretariat, among other laudable projects and programs aimed at improving the working condition of Katsina journalists.
He called on journalists in Katsina to always balance their stories to avoid spreading fake news, especially in the era of social media.
The occasion had in attendance the wife of the Katsina State Governor-Elect, Hajia Zulaihatu Dikko Radda, as the Special Guest of Honour, which was her first official function as wife of the Governor-Elect.
