POLITICS DIGEST- Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello has expressed shock over the sudden demise of former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Ishaya Iko Ibrahim who died on Tuesday in Abuja after a brief illness.
Governor Bello in a press statement on Wednesday signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammed Onogwu noted that the late vice Admiral Ishaya played unforgettable roles in ensuring the security of Kogi’s water ways.
He noted that during his time as the Chief of Naval Staff, he facilitated the establishment NNS LUGARD in Lokoja.

Governor Bello revealed that the former CNS who was recently in Ajaokuta where the Kogi State governor flagged off the chatting and survey of River Niger and Benue in November 2021 was also the Board Chairman of National Inland Waterways Agency where he also contributed his quota.
The Governor condoled with the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, the officers, ratings and civilian staff of the Nigerian Navy over the death of the former chief of Naval Staff noting that his death was a great loss to the service and the nation.
He similarly extended his commiseration to the family, friends and associates of the late CNS, praying for God to grant him eternal rest and the fortitude for those grieved to bear the loss.
