Kogi Primary: Muri’s Supporters Protest as APC Submits Ododo’s
Name to INEC

Supporters of a Kogi state governorship aspirant, Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, on Monday staged a peaceful protest at the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat in Abuja.
The supporters were protesting the announcement of former Auditor General of the state, Ahmed Usman Ododo, as the winner of the primary election conducted on Saturday.
The protesters with placards reading “NO MURI, NO APC” called on the APC National Working Committee to declare Ajaka winner of the primary election.

Muri who was restricted from participating at the primary due to an alleged court order. He also declined to step down for Governor Yahaya Bello’s anointed candidate, Ododo.
Meanwhile, APC has forwarded the names of candidates who emerged from the primary election conducted in three states over the weekend to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a letter dated 17th of April, 2023, and signed by the party’s Acting National chairman, Senator Abubakar Kyari, and National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore,
the names of Timipre Silva (Bayelsa), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), and Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi) were listed as the respective gubernatorial candidates of the party.
