“Today marks 2 years since the abduction of the famous government’s critic, Abubakar Idris Dadiyata from his residence in Barnawa Quarters, Kaduna State, on 2nd August, 2019 by some masked men. His abduction was believed to be politically motivated because of his fierce criticisms of Buhari’s administration and the Kaduna State government under Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
A sufficient number of calls and protests were made, online and offline, to get him release, but all were in vain, as he marks yet another year in abduction, without freedom.
Abubakar Idris Dadiyata, a father of two daughters, is a university lecturer, and a member of Kwankwasiyya Political Movement; a group that stresses the importance of pro-masses policies as main way to tackle Nigeria’s major problems of poverty, unemployment and insecurity under the leadership of Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Mr. Dadiyata is among the pioneer members of the Kwankwasiyya Twitter Guild; the group that dominates the call and campaign for his release to regain freedom.
Today prayer session marks two years since his abduction and unnecessary detention. The guild wants to use this opportunity to pray and call for his safe and unconditional release”.
