Kwara Law maker empowers 1000 less-privilege household in Omupo Empowerment By Fatima Mohammed-Lawal
Omupo (Kwara), March 21, 2022 (NAN) Hon. AbdulGaniyu Salahuddeen, a member representing Omupo Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, has empowered 1000 less-privilege house holds across the eight wards and five Districts of his Constituency in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara.
Speaking at the sidelines of the event, on Monday, Salaudeen explained that the empowerment is his way to give back to his community who are in one way or the other in needs.
Salahuddeen, who is also a legal luminary said that the programme is a fulfillment of public understanding, and to bring together political friends and foster love in the community.
According to him, a leader who benefitted from provision of a statute or law is supposed to reach out to their communities and contribute to the human capital development of the community.
He quoted the injunctions of the Quran which emphasised giving to the less privileged without reservations.
“What we are holding today is a grant empowerment, an opportunity to showcase all what we have done in terms of developmental strides, economic emancipation and social empowerment within the period of our stewardship which began in 2019,” he said.
The Law maker said that his stewardship since 2019 has changed the narrative and ensure that his constituency belongs to her rightful state.
He stressed that he has so far covered and taking care of his constituents’ needs in the area such as eduction, road projects, sports, health and through legislative, by moving motions, lobbying and other different approaches that have yielded much dividends to the people in his constituency.
He appreciated Gov. AbdulRazak of the Kwara, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Salihu and other members of the State 9th Assembly, for their show of genuine cause to the concerns and course in his State Constituency.

“Today’s empowerment that has been granted to these 1000 households, include Agricultural Inputs, Social Empowerment, Artisans’ engagement, economic relief, employments, cash grants and infrastructural development.
“Others are giving Motorcycles, Deep Freezers, Welding Machines, Sewing machines, Grinding machine, POS machine with takeoff grants, Agricultural spraying machines, School bags and cash grants.
“We have also identified the poorest of the poor within our community in order to complement the Social Service of Mall. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, through the Kwara State Investment Program.
“We identified 500 market women and elderly members of our Constituency where we will enroll them in the special scheme designed by my constituency office, the Owo arugbo and Owo Isowo program,” he said.
Salaudeen also explained that the program will be incorporated with the Annual Bursary Program, which will be expanded to accommodate 85 more Students within the Constituency.
He appealed to the Constituent to continue to support the present administration of Gov. AbdulRazak, for additional four years of administration, adding that since inception the Constituent has thrived well.
Also speaking, Hon. Danladi Salihu, the Speaker of the 9th Kwara House of Assembly, who was accompanied by his deputy and members of House, attested to personal commitment of Salaudeen.
He commended the actions of the Law maker, saying he is taking the constituency to greater height just as Gov. Abdurlrazaq is doing for people in Kwara.
Salihu charged people of the constituency to come together to support Salaudeen to return as they would also want for the governor.
He advocated for unity amongst all stakeholders in governance for the betterment of the state and it’s people.
