Hon. Ndakene laments flood menace in Kwara, writes NEMA
The House of Representative member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Honorable has expressed concern over the menace of ravaging flood in some parts of his constituency.
This was made known in a statement made available to journalist by his media aide, Mr. Abubakar Saddiq.
It was gathered that Hon. Ndakene has since written to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), informing them about the situation and requesting, as a matter of urgency, for relief materials and medication for those affected.

Furthermore, he urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts on the completion of the ongoing dredging of River Niger, which he noted, will help avert future occurence of flood.
“The flood had submerged large expanse of arable land, leaving many houses waterlogged. The unfortunate incident has rendered not only many farmers and other persons engaged in agro-allied activities jobless and homeless, but also exposed to diseases and malnutrition” he stated.
The Honourable Member further lamented that schools in the affected areas have been shut down, while most of the motorable roads have been terribly damaged by erosion and in other cases heavily waterlogged, leaving bridges unpliable and some villages inaccessible.
