Lack of Road, Water, Electricity In Kawuri, Bangashi Villages, An Open Letter to Senator Kawu Sumaila, By Yahaya Wada Abdullahi
I’m writing this letter on behalf of Kawuri and Bangashi Villages residents in Gaya local government . These villages are one of the most populous wards in Gaya local government and have given you their maximum support.
This is in view of your dogged and pro masses stand on issues affecting the common man.
I don’t know how to reach you in person to present our demands, but I have an utmost belief in the saying that “Pen is mightier than sword.” Our message will be conveyed to you through social media platforms.
Distinguished Senator Sir, our people suffer a lot in accessing these basic amenities. You have to walk to a very long distance before having access to water. They said water is life while the issue of electricity and road is something that I have never come across in these two communities since when I was given birth.
Thank God that I went to school. Education has given me the opportunity to think and channel the problem of our people towards bringing this predicament to an end.
I’m highly optimistic that Distinguished Senator Kawu Sumaila will come to our aide.
I have written similar letters to our state and House of Representatives members, but all efforts to hear something positive is to no avail.

Distinguished Senator, hundreds of the residents of the aforementioned communities don’t go to school. You’re fully aware that education is very important for every society to develop. Without education, a society will be living in the darkness of ignorance. We don’t have schools as our children walk to a very far distance to attend schools, and that has been discouraging our people from going to school.
For decades, lack of access to education has been a contributing factor ofnour backwardness.
I can categorically tell you that we have not enjoyed anything called dividends of democracy since the return to a democratic rule in 1999.
We don’t have access to health facilities in all of these wards, no single primary healthcare for our people. We lost many lives because they could not go to the hospital in terms of sickness. Pregnant women are the greatest victims of this problem.
We are very confident in you as the only lawmaker and political office holder that can come to the aide of our people at this critical time.
I hope the distinguished senator wilk find time to read this and take the appropriate action for the betterment of our people.
May Allah guide and reward you abundantly for the excellent representation you are giving to the people of Kano South.
Best regards,
Yahaya Wada Abdullahi
