Lagos East Constituents Receive New Classroom Blocks, Healthcare Facility from SDG
In a significant stride toward infrastructure improvement, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSAP-SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, has officially unveiled two pivotal projects aimed at enhancing both education and healthcare in Lagos East.
A statement by Media Aide to SSAP-SDGs Desmond UTOMWEN disclosed that the first initiative, a 22-classroom block at Wright Memorial Primary School in Somolu, is set to alleviate overcrowding and improve the quality of education for local students.
This project supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), ensuring that children from underserved communities have access to modern learning environments conducive to academic success. With new facilities in place, the school aims to foster an enhanced educational experience for its students.
In a complementary move, a state-of-the-art 40-bed Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) was inaugurated in Agboyi-Ketu. This new facility promises to deliver essential healthcare services to the local populace, significantly easing the burden on crowded general hospitals in the region.
