Lawmaker Empowers 200 Women Entrepreneurs in Kwara
POLITICS DIGEST – The member representing Edu, Moro and Patigi Federal constituency in Kwara state, Ahmed Abubakar Ndakene has on Saturday empowered about 200 women in Shonga district to boost their economic activities.
The lawmaker, represented by former Edu local government chairman, Hon. Isa Manuga during the flagoff of the disbursement at Shonga Market, said the scheme is designed to enhance the income generation of women with access to an interest-free revolving loan to enable them expand their economic activities.

The grant which was tagged HAAN-CODI, is a developmental initiative of the lawmaker aimed at empowering grassroot entrepreneurs within his constituency through the provision of training on areas of ICT, livestock development, crop production and agro processing among others.
Ndakene said “This Women Empowerment Scheme (WES) is one of the Components of HAAN-CODI and is targeted at empowering five thousand (5,000) women over the course of four years to be self-reliant, and better positioned in the society, while breaking the yoke of extreme poverty especially among the women folk”.
“The program will be created in all districts of my constituency, targeting one district at a time, thereby spanning the entire Constituency”, the lawmaker added.
Ndakene added that the project is pragmatic and people-oriented and will hopefully break new grounds in delivering democratic devidend to his constituents.
