Leaked Phone Chats: Obasanjo Directs Charly Boy, Ex-Gov Duke to Organize ‘Massive Protests’ Over Elections’ Results
POLITICS DIGEST – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is plotting to incite anarchy across the land, Politic Digest learnt.
The ex-Nigerian leader, in two separate leaked telephone conversations, wants youths in the country, to be mobilized for a massive ‘Occupy Nigeria’ protest, over the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
The election, held last Saturday, was won by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, with over 8 million votes.
Tinubu, defeated Alh. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, who emerged first, second and third runner ups in the poll.
Obasanjo, in the leaked telephone audios published by People Gazzette (https://twitter.com/GazetteNGR/status/1630941868501475329), spoke with Charly Boy, a controversial Nigerian entertainer and Donald Duke, a former two-term Governor of Cross River State.
In the leaked phone chat with Charly Boy, Obasanjo, urged Charly Boy to recruit other people to ‘Occupy Nigeria’, in order to paralyze the country. According to him, that is what will jolt relevant authorities to find a solution to his (Obasanjo) alleged ‘rigging’ alarm.

In a transcribe of the audio by the Politics Digest, Obasanjo said: “You shouldn’t do it alone, you need to occupy Nigeria, alright? It is Nigeria, because in that way, when the country is paralysed then they will find solution, alright? Okay?”
Meanwhile, Obasanjo, in the phone conversation with Donald Duke, expressed worry that some persons are bent on rigging “this election and stealing it.”
He, however, told the former Cross River Governor that they should make sure that Nigerian youths don’t accept it.’
“The people, the youth should not accept. If they want to kill the youth, let them kill them, and they will not leave after that, alright,” the ex-Nigerian leader asserted in the phone chat with Duke.
Recalled that Obasanjo, on Monday, raised the alarm that danger is lurking around the country, over an alleged “compromise of the ongoing election process”.
He appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, to stop the process and rectify the allegations raised against it from many quarters.
Obasanjo, in a personally signed letter titled, “An appeal for caution and rectification,” released on Monday, said some politicians had compromised some electoral officials to make the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines not to work.
He said, “I am constrained to speak at this point. I crave the indulgence of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency General Muhammadu Buhari, to make this statement because I have had opportunity to keep him aware of what I know is happening and the danger looming ahead”
