MAAUN commiserates with family of late Ma’ajin Watari, Alhaji Abba Ahmad
POLITICS DIGEST- The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) Kano has condoled with the family of Alhaji Abba Ahmad, the Ma’aji of Watari and District Head of Kabo in Kano state who died on Friday, February 19, 2021.
The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by the President and Founder of the University, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and made available to newsmen in Kano on Friday.
The late District Head of Kabo who died at the age of 78 at a hospital in Kano, left behind three wives, 12 children and many grandchildren.

Professor Gwarzo described late Ma’aji of Watari as a great patron of MAAUN who contributed immensely at the initial stage of establishing the university through meaningful advices and suggestions even though he had not lived to see its take off.
“Therefore, we pray to Almighty Allah to forgive all his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus (the highest level of paradise),” professor Gwarzo said.
Abubakar Gwarzo also described the death of the traditional ruler as a great loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire people of Kano state in view of the fact that he devoted his time supporting the less privileged in the society while he was alive.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant his family, relatives and associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The deceased had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites in Kano after the funeral prayer was conducted at the Kano Emir’s palace.
