MAAUN International Alumni Unite To Safeguard University’s Reputation

In a bold and unified stand for the protection of their alma mater, the MAAUN International Alumni convened a virtual meeting on Wednesday 10th January 2024, The urgent meeting brought together over 200 members from across the globe. The primary agenda of this unprecedented gathering was to address and counter any attempt that will tarnish the image of Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), Maradi, Niger Republic.
Unity Across Continents
The strength of the MAAUN International Alumni was palpable as alumni spanning various continents connected virtually to discuss and strategize against potential threats to the reputation o the University led by the visionary Balarabe Uba AAbdullahi who is the President of the alumni.
The meeting aimed to address what was described as a conspiracy against the university by individuals with hidden motives, potentially acting on behalf of competing institutions, and enemies of the founder Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo unrivalled achievements.
During the meeting, Mr. Balarabe, in his opening remarks, underscored the purpose of the meeting, which aims to foster unity among alumni and collectively combat any malicious attempts to tarnish MAAUN’s image and the founder. He emphasized that the university has been subjected to unwarranted social media attacks recently, and it is the responsibility of the alumni to protect the institution that played a pivotal role in shaping their academic and professional journeys.
Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi, a distinguished alumnus and prominent figure in the gathering, charged the members to respond to any attempts that will tarnish MAAUN’s image with respect and fact.

Dr. Sufi stressed the importance of approaching such situations with fact by providing the piblic with the institutions track record in academic excellence.
He reminded the alumni about the series of challenges from travelling across borders, the cost of leaving, intensive academic activities. He further appreciates the Alumni and asserts that despite the challenges faced at MAAUN Niger, the love and pride for their alma mater remain unwavering.
Legal Vigilance
The meeting affirmed that the alumni community cannot fold it alms seeing such negativity been portrayed against MAAUN.
They emphasized the readiness to engage in legal battles to protect the university’s reputation, reinforcing the message that MAAUN alumni are not only proud of their alma mater but are also committed to defending it against unfounded attacks.
Diverse Support
The virtual meeting saw the participation of over 200 lawyers, policymakers, healthcare professionals, directors at federal and state levels, as well as heads of various parastatals and agencies who are alumni of the institution.
This diverse and influential support underscores the widespread commitment to ensuring that MAAUN’s image remains untarnished and that any attempts to discredit the institution are met with a united and formidable response.
