Massive Protest Rocks Kano over Appeal Court Ruling
By Ozumi Abdul
Kano state was on Wednesday rocked with a wave of protests over the Appeal Court verdict which sacked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and pronounced Nasir Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the rightful winner of the March 18 election.
The demonstrations saw angry residents block major roads and set bonfires in a clear display of their disapproval of the Court’s ruling.

The protests were also fuelled by the contradiction in the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgement released by the Court which in some parts upheld the election of the governor.
The Court has however attributed the contradiction to a typographical error.
POLITICS DIGEST also gathered that all efforts by the Court to retrieve the CTC from the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) have proved abortive with the party vowing to seek redress in the Supreme Court with the document.
