Mr President, Arewa is Bleeding, By Faisal Abdullahi Idris
POLITICS DIGEST – Dear President Muhammadu Buhari,
What happened towards the end, and in the end of your tenure would determine how you’ll be remembered. It would be a great injustice to say we haven’t recorded successes in the area of security since you become the Commander-in-Chief of Nigerian armed forces, but what has been happening in Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Sokoto and even Borno states has eroded your achievements in the fight against insecurity.
Mr. President, people are baffled, worried and frustrated because of failure of the security personnel to protect our lives and property; human lives are sacred, and the protection of our lives should be paramount.

Mr. President, those who are being maimed and killed have not sinned against anyone, in fact they don’t even care to get anything from the government, they live in rural areas, provide for themselves without government support and encouragement.
Nigerians have entrusted you and your administration more than anyone in this country, they’re being condoning all the wrongdoings of your administration, they defend your administration even when you erred and goofed, simply because they love you and have absolute trust in you.
You have made remarkable successes as pointed earlier; don’t allow the poor and vulnerable to lose hope in you, you’re their hope and Messiah. They see security in you; they see preservation of sanctity of lives in you.
Mr. President, these people do not deserve these incessant killings (perhaps, no one deserves to be killed in such a brutal and barbaric way).
The time to act is now, this is not the time of issuing statement alone, Nigerians need actions.
