Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Northern Professionals Canvass Support for Tinubu, Assure Christians of Inclusion
By Ozumi Abdul
The Northern Young Professionals for Tinubu (NYPFT) on Wednesday in Kano called on the northern electorate to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in next year’s election.
The group also educated the people on the need to urgently register and collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) in time for the general elections.

According to the NYPFT National Coordinator, Alhaji Abdullahi Tanko Yakassai, the gathering of the group was meant to achieve three things which were to celebrate the emergence of the former governor of Lagos state as the party’s presidential flagbearer, to celebrate the emergence of Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate and to also create awareness in the electorate on the need to not just register but to also get their PVCs in readiness for the elections.
Alhaji Yakassai expressed confidence that Tinubu will win next year’s election based on his pedigree as a performer and talent hunter.
He added that Tinubu would replicate the success he achieved in Lagos state at the federal level as President of the nation.
Yakassai laughed off criticisms coming from Christians over APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket, saying Tinubu’s wife who is a devout Christian and Pastor would be a reliable representative of the people of that faith.
He advised Nigerians to shun politics of religion and ethnicity, and concentrate on the overall development of the country.
