Nasiru Usman Naibawa: An Icon of Youth Inclusion in Politics
Youth inclusion in politics has become a subject of discussion in the Nigerian public sphere for quite a long time but Nasiru Usman Naibawa is a shining example of youth inclusion not in politics but in governance.
Naibawa was born in the ancient city of Kano in 1976. He had his Primary and Secondary Education in the state before he obtained a certificate in public administration at Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda.
He also holds a Diploma in Public Administration from Kano State Polytechnic in 2007 and a Higher National Diploma in 2011.

In 2006, Naibawa was appointed Special Assistant to the Member representing Kumbotso Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Bala Yau Bayco and later Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Works in Kano from 2007 to 2011.
Nasiru is a grassroots politician of note, he was elected Councillor of Naibawa ward from 2004 to 2007 where he led the Local Government Council as Speaker at the age of 26.
Having exhibited high qualities of leadership, Naibawa was appointed as Caretaker Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government by then Governor Ibrahim Shekarau at the very young age of 31.
As a public administrator, having played a major role in the election of Ganduje as Kano State Governor in 2015 and 2019 he was appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the governor on KAROTA 1 in 2020 and was later elevated to Special Adviser to the governor on Support Groups.
Honorable Nasiru Naibawa is not only a youth leader, and grassroots mobilizer but a good example of youth inclusion in politics and governance.
