NBA Chairmanship Aspirant in Kano withdraws from Contest
POLITICS DIGEST– Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Kano branch chairmanship aspirant, Sa’idu Muhammad Tudun Wada has withdrawn from the race.
Saidu Tudunwada made this in a statement issued on Friday and sent to POLITICS DIGEST, he said the decision to withdraw from contesting for the Kano bar chairmanship was persuaded by his interest to ensure Kano NBA remains a united professional body worthy of emulation by other branches in the country.
“Events that unfolded in the past few days have prompted my friends in the Progressive Forum to summon an emergency meeting and take crucial decisions regarding my aspiration as the Chairman of the Kano Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association.
“In consequence of the unfolding development, the forum has also consulted some senior members of the Bar, deliberated and brainstormed at length on the future of our campaign for a greater NBA, Kano Branch.
“With over two decades of experience at the Bar, I have a belief that we embarked on this journey fully prepared, starting on a sound note, with a high spirit and fervent desire to reform the Kano Bar by making it truly professional, apolitical and all encompassing irrespective of our different backgrounds and beliefs.

“We met with lawyers of common hopes and dreams and rolled out programs and plans to take Kano Bar to a higher level for the dignity and benefits of all. Your overwhelming support, prayers, guidance and love mean the world to me. Thank you for showing me what was possible, when I couldn’t see it myself.
“As we journeyed smoothly, weathered all the storms, and started seeing a clear course of victory, sadly an unexpected turbulence in our consultation trail occurred, necessitating a retreat. Believing in the will of Allah SWT, I sincerely take it in good faith without bearing malice or begrudging anybody.
“May I at this juncture, humbly announce to my friends, colleagues and well wishers that I have decided to pull out of the race in the interest of peace and keeping the bond we built over the years together. I have the strong belief that ephemeral trappings of office are not worth the longtime friendship we all cherish. Besides, NBA Kano Branch is greater than the sum of our individual ambitions.
“Let me remind you all that my dreams of improving the welfare and capacity of our members, especially the young lawyers, are still alive – whether as the Chairman of the NBA or as an ordinary member of the Bar.
“Please accept my sincere and heartrending apologies and I appreciate your love, support and understanding much more than I can express. Again, you have the life-long appreciation of a grateful me. May Allah SWT that is above all schemers reward you manifold.
“Together with your help and God’s grace we will continue our journey forward for a greater Kano Bar. *God’s time is always the best”, he wrote.
