NCPC to Airlift Intending Pilgrims to Holy Land This Year’ – Bishop Adegbite
POLITICS DIGEST- The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has said that his Commission would certainly airlift intending pilgrims to the Holy Land this year.
He made the disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja while hosting the Chairman and members of the Board of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, who paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
While welcoming them to his office he intimated to them that NCPC belongs to the church and “I will ensure that we do the right thing at the right time” He urged them to continue to pray for President Bola Tinubu for God’s wisdom to effectively pilot the affairs of Nigeria, while assuring them that Nigeria would surely get out of the woods in no too – distant- time.
He said Lagos would continue to remain fresh in his memory having stayed there for over three decades. “Lagos is my success story, and I will continue to support the cause of Lagos.”

Bishop Adegbite urged them to admonish the intending Lagos Pilgrims to be patient with the Lagos Board and the Commission, bearing in mind that they would travel on pilgrimage at the right time this year. He assured them that the interest of Lagos is protected as far as NCPC Pilgrimage operation is concerned.
Earlier, the Chairman of Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Bishop Johnson Akinpelu, said they were grateful for the effective leadership qualities of Bishop Adegbite since his assumption of office as the Executive Secretary of NCPC on 5th February 2024.
He prayed that the Lord would imbue him with wisdom to continue to lift the Commission to greater heights. Bishop Akinpelu stressed the need to continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem which is an injunction from the Holy Bible.
He expressed his optimism that peace would be restored in Israel soon and, by extension, the Middle East.
The Chairman disclosed that they were in NCPC to find out the state of things about this year’s pilgrimage exercise given the mounting pressures from the intending Lagos Pilgrims.
He noted the efforts of President Bola Tinubu in advancing the cause of the Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria as well as the dogged efforts of the Chief Servant of NCPC.
He appreciated the Executive Secretary of NCPC for the sense of direction he has brought to bear in the Commission.
The courtesy visit was graced by the Vice Chairman of the Board, Archbishop Prof Rufus Oguntuase, the Board Secretary, Mrs Florence Gbafe, and other members of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.
