New Tariff: KEDCO alleges 85% electricity supply target
POLITICS DIGEST – The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says it has fulfilled 85 per cent of its supply target based on hours of supply under the new service-based tariff regime of National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
The company also promised more service delivery in line with its promise on new tariff bands delivered the stipulated hours of supply per band.
KEDCO confirmed the development in statement made available to Politics Digest in Kano Monday.
“As part of efforts to ensure that we give our customers 100 per cent satisfaction, KEDCO is working to ensure we meet the remaining 15 per cent supply target as we further improve on our service delivery,” KEDCO said.

The company then charged all its customers to reciprocate this gesture by paying for what they consume to sustain the improvement in the power sector.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Kano DisCo, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna said “The improvement in supply per hours is an evidence of our conscious efforts to give value for money under the new regime.
“As a responsible organization, the best we can deliver at a time like this is to make our customers smile and it is in that spirit we appeal to them to collect their meters from any of our offices to assist KEDCO end the era of estimated billing.
“For any information on the new service-based tariff, we advise everyone to visit our social media platforms, our website or nearest KEDCO offices on any clarification needed with regard to the new tariff,” the company added.
Politics Digest recalled that NERC has recently approved the upward review of electricity tariff to some categories of electricity consumers in the country.
