In Niamey, MAAUN Founder, Prof Gwarzo, Meets African Leaders at Launch of Book on Buhari
POLITICS DIGEST – The President and Founder of the Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has attended the African Union (AU’s) Extraordinary Session on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The event took place in Niamey, Niger Republic, from 20th – 25th November 2022, with the theme: “Industrializing Africa: Renewed Commitment towards Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization and Economic Diversification”.
During the two-day event, Gwarzo interacted with African leaders, including President Mohammed Bazoum of Niger, Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, and President of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló
He had earlier joined other African leaders who attended the launch of the French version of the President Biography; ‘‘Muhammadu Buhari: the Challenges of Leadership in Nigeria’’, last Thursday.
The African Presidents shared their testimonies on the leadership qualities of the Nigerian president during the occasion.
Those present at the Book Launch include President Mohamed Bazoum of Niger Republic, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea Bissau, General Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, Head of the Transition Military Council and President of Chad, and former President of Niger, Republic Mohamadou Issoufou.
The book was authored by John Paden, a Professor of International Studies at George Mason University, Northern Virginia, United States.
The event took place at the margins of the African Union Summit on Industrialization and Economic Diversification, as well as the Extraordinary Session on African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in Niger Republic.
Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and three other Nigerians, Mohammed Indimi, Chairman of Oriental Energy Resources (OER), Sayyu Dantata, Chief Executive Officer, MRS Holdings Limited, and Farouk Adamu Aliyu, all received awards from the Nigerien leader for their contribution towards the development of Nigeria and Niger’s bilateral relationship.
