Nigeria Celebrates 64th Anniversary Amidst Economic Hardships – AANI
Nigeria marked its 64th Independence Anniversary today, October 1, 2024, with a low-key celebration, acknowledging the economic hardships and security challenges facing the nation ¹.
Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor, President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), congratulated Nigerians on this milestone, praising their resilience and commitment to building a better future.
In a message, Okafor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government for its sensitivity to the economic realities of Nigerians, recognizing the need for a modest celebration.
He emphasized the importance of learning from past experiences to chart a brighter future, as reflected in the theme “Reflecting on the Past, Inspiring the Future” [1).
