NIPR President Tasks PRNigeria Fellows on Building Good Reputation By Rabi Ummi Umar
The President and Chairman, Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, has emphasized the importance of a good reputation, saying it is an invaluable asset to individuals, organizations, and even nations’ prosperity.
He made this remark during his address at the closing ceremony of a one-month-long capacity-building training for ten select PRNigeria Communication Fellows.
The ceremony took place at PRNigeria’s Head Office in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on Friday.
“Reputation is very important, and it is vital to cultivate a good one. It defines who you are, and it tells people how they should interact and engage with you. Reputation is now a global capital; therefore, organizations and nations pay more attention to it.

“However, reputation without commitment and hard work does not yield the desired result. Both are the driving forces behind a good reputation. You are not there yet, but the process has started, and you will all be great,” he encouraged the Fellows.
The President further acknowledged the efforts put into the program by Alhaji Yashau Shuaib and his team, as well as the knowledge displayed by the participants.
“I am very excited to listen to you. I have seen you all before at a customs event, and now, sitting with you and listening to your presentations gives me the impression that the past month has not been in vain.
“I would like to thank Alhaji Shuaib once again for what he is quietly doing for the nation. The gift of giving is the greatest gift anyone can share, and that is exactly what he does. He has given his all to nurture people, and this Fellowship initiative must be commended,” he said.
In his remarks, Alhaji Yushau Shuaib, the Managing Director of Image Merchants Promotion Limited, publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, among other titles, urged the participants in the first cohort to apply the lessons they have learned.
The program concluded with a certificate presentation to the participants, and a scholarship to the PRFinishing School was awarded to Fatimat Ibrahim Abedoh, who was chosen as the best fellow by a team of judges.
